Steve Pettit steps down at the Australian Institute of Fitness
Steve Pettit, Chief Executive at the Australian Institute of Fitness since 2016, has advised that he will be leaving the leading training body as of 22nd December.
In an announcement that advised he had resigned as of 30th October, Pettit explained “I have enjoyed an incredible 15 years with the AIF, my last seven as CEO.
“(Now) it's time to assess the next step in my career and after a family holiday over the Christmas period I'm looking forward to considering my options heading into 2024.”
Nouri Groom, formerly the AIF’s Head of Finance has successfully been appointed as Pettit’s successor, becoming its new Chief Executive as Monday 20th November 2023.
Commenting on this, Pettit added “I've had the pleasure of working with Nouri for the last four years and I know that he will bring fresh energy and ideas to the AIF and the fitness/education industry more broadly.”
Pettit (pictured) will act in an advisory capacity over the coming weeks to facilitate a smooth handover with Groom.
Pettit went on to say “thank you for your commitment to AIF, whilst I will no longer be part of the team I'll be cheering from the sidelines as the AIF continues to enjoy significant possibilities for the future.”
