Australian Institute of Fitness named a finalist in 2015 NSW Training Awards

The Australian Institute of Fitness has been announced as a finalist in the 2015 NSW Training Awards for Large Training Provider of the Year, making it the only private fitness training organisation to be named as a finalist in any category across the awards.

The awards, conducted annually by the NSW Department of Industry, aim to recognise outstanding achievement in the vocational education and training sector, honouring and rewarding the achievements of students, trainers/teachers, training organisations, large and small employers.

The Australian Institute of Fitness is the largest and longest established fitness training organisation in Australia, with campuses across the country, and its national office in NSW.

The Institute attributes its success in being named as a finalist to its unique culture, its expansion into regional areas, via ‘satellite campuses’ in areas such as Orange, Illawarra and Newcastle, and its strong connections with industry.

Commenting on its achievement, Australian Institute of Fitness Chief Executive Dyanne Ward stated “the Australian Institute of Fitness prides itself on being first and truly unique in the way in which it operates. Our courses continue to adapt and incorporate changes identified through industry engagement.

“What’s more, we strive to deliver the same high standard of training right across the country, whether that is in a purpose-built campus in a metro area, or a satellite campus inside a gym in a regional area. It is a credit to our whole team to be recognised by the NSW Training Awards.”

The Institute’s comprehensive career assistance program includes access to Career Scouts who help students connect with employers (1,200 Career Partners nationally, with 400 of these in NSW), and Career Gurus who provide career advice.

In addition, regular FIRE (Fitness Industry Recruitment Expo) nights give students a chance to connect with Career Partners and secure their Trainer Experience placement.

The Institute will be up against Australian Training & Consulting, and VERTO Ltd for the Large Training Provider of the Year Award on Wednesday 9 September at a presentation event in Sydney, and the winner will go on to represent the state in the 2015 Australian Training Awards.
