Port Macquarie Hastings Council opens applications for 2025 major event grants
Port Macquarie Hastings Council is encouraging community groups, event organisers, sporting associations and businesses to apply for the latest round of Major Event Grants on offer.
The Major Events Grants offer financial support of up to $5,000 for organisers to use on event marketing activities, with applications closing 15th September.
Events must take place between 1st January and 31st July 2025, be ongoing, and with potential for further growth.
PMHC Acting Director Community Planning Environment, Dan Croft, said the initiative aims to encourage new and existing events that bring people together and help to foster the social, cultural, environmental and economic opportunities for our community.
“Port Macquarie Hastings is a stunning location for any event,” Croft shared.
"Hosting here is a major drawcard for visitors and event goers, and we encourage people to apply for events that attract visitors and showcase our region. We have so much to offer, including our beaches, hinterlands, and our world-class cultural and sporting centres.
“We also understand that it continues to be a challenging time for the events and arts industries, and we are keen to support our local businesses during this time.”
Quick Grant applications of up to $1,000 are also open all year round and can be allocated towards any expenses for an event.
In the past 12 months, PMHC has awarded over $40,000 worth of Major Event Grants to 10 local organisations over two rounds of applications.
