Merlin advances Living and Leisure Australia takeover
Documents released this week advising of a "change of interest of substantial holder" indicate that global leisure operator Merlin Entertainments' $140 million bid for the Living and Leisure Australia Group (LLA) is on target.
LLA Directors have previously advised that they support the cash offer from Merlin's Australian subsidiary.
LLAs's interests include the Melbourne Aquarium, Underwater World Mooloolaba and the Victorian ski resorts of Hotham and Falls Creek, the Otway Fly and Illawarra Fly treetop walks and Asian assets including Siam Ocean World in Bangkok, Shanghai Chang Feng Ocean World in China and Busan Aquarium in South Korea.
Merlin, which has already undertaken substantial rebranding of attractions acquired from Village Roadshow earlier this year, is likely to rebrand its new aquarium assets under is global 'Sea Life' brand.
