Dr Andrew Rochford named Australian Institute of Fitness ambassador
TV Presenter Dr Andrew Rochford has teamed up with Australian Institute of Fitness to urge more people to start a career in the fitness industry and take on the role of encouraging Australians to be healthier.
With more than 60% of Australians either overweight or obese, and many suffering from lifestyle diseases, the Australian Institute of Fitness believes that, in this age of convenience, Australians need to move, which is where Personal Trainers come in.

The Institute's 'Fitness Doctor' and star of Network Ten's new morning show Breakfast beginning on 27th February, Dr Andrew Rochford believes "there's a really nice space within the health and fitness world for well-trained, motivated Personal Trainers to work towards combatting the obesity epidemic.
"(The) Australian Institute of Fitness are working towards achieving something really great, not only are they providing the right training and skills, but they're taking care to make sure the programs are safe, that there's science behind what they're doing, and invariably they're creating professionals who are well trained in the industry."
Given his background in medical science, before his TV and radio career took off, Dr Rochford is passionate about getting people moving, feeling better about themselves and getting get healthier Andrew takes great pride in.
He adds "I'm someone who likes to keep fit and has always appreciated that as a nation we're just not moving around as much as we should be. As we head into a place where obesity is getting out of hand, Personal Trainers will thrive."
