Snap Fitness expands into Tasmania
Leading fitness franchise Snap Fitness has announced their plans to expand into Tasmania as they look to surpass 300 clubs in Australia in 2020.
Last year saw Tasmania lead the nation’s economic growth for the first time on record, with the Australian Bureau of Statistics revealing the state’s economy grew at almost double the rate of the national average.
With Tasmania enjoying strong economic growth, Snap Fitness APAC Chief Executive Ty Menzies said 2020 is the perfect time for the brand to expand into Tasmania, and for Tasmanian locals to take the step of running their own gym.
Menzies noted “with strong economic growth, an upwards trend in employment and one of the country’s highest long-term survival rates for business, it’s a great time to do business in Tassie.”
Menzies said the franchise brand will focus on securing up to ten sites in and around Hobart before working to secure sites right across the state adding “we’re in the process of securing some great sites in Hobart and now we’re looking for passionate fitness enthusiasts to join the team as franchisees.
“Australia’s health and fitness sector is booming and is forecasted for continual revenue growth in the coming years, offering a strong investment opportunity for business owners.”
Snap Fitness clubs typically require a 500metres2 footprint in a central, accessible location, making space a key priority for its property team when identifying a new territory for a club.
“We bring the features of a big box gym to the local community in a much more accessible environment and in locations that are convenient for our members.
“Finding the perfect space that ticks all of the boxes on our location checklist can often be the most challenging part of a new opening, however it is integral to the success of our clubs.”
As one of Australia’s leading fitness brands backed by a global network of over 2,000 clubs, including 275 across Australia and New Zealand, Snap Fitness’ proven franchise model provides new club owners with training and ongoing support.
