Snap Fitness partners with Qantas for members to earn frequent flyer points
Snap Fitness has joined with the Qantas Frequent Flyer program to offer Qantas Points to its members.
Echoing the partnership between Jetts and Virgin Australia's Velocity frequent flyer program, since 8th August, Snap Fitness members have been able to earn 100 Qantas Points each month, while new Snap Fitness members will also receive 3,500 bonus points when signing up for a 12 month membership or 1,000 bonus points for new month-to-month plans.
Qantas Loyalty Chief Executive Lesley Grant said the partnership with Snap Fitness was a ‘first’ for Qantas Frequent Flyer, stating "we offer over 15,000 opportunities to earn points for activities other than flying, but Snap Fitness joining the program is particularly exciting because never before have we had a gym as part of the program.
“If our members like to keep fit, they may as well work-out at a Snap Fitness gym because by doing so their points balance will also get a healthy kick along each month.”
Snap Fitness Chief Executive Andy Peat is delighted with the link, adding "we want our members to feel even more special about being a part of the Snap community and being able to reward their fitness with Qantas Points is a great step.”
“Many Australians already have a gym membership but when their membership comes up for renewal, I’d certainly hope they would consider us so they can start earning points,” he said.
“We know that, these days, life is busy. Our members are busy people and that’s why our gyms are open 24/7 to cater for all kinds of schedules.
“We have over 170 gyms around Australia both in cities and rural areas, plus 1,700 clubs globally. So regardless of where you happen to be, you don’t have to forgo your exercise regime. And our members can expect the same state-of-the art equipment overseas or interstate, as they experience at home.
“Being associated with Qantas Frequent Flyer absolutely gives us a competitive edge when you consider the high value that Australians place on collecting Qantas Points – and why wouldn’t they?
“We are all about rewarding fitness and we can do that by giving our members something really valuable to them, and that’s Qantas Points."
Grant said savvy Frequent Flyer members earn Qantas Points across their everyday spend, explaining "it’s amazing how quickly your points can accumulate if, for example, you’ve got a points-earning credit card, you buy your wine from Qantas epiQure, you shop through our Online Mall with brands like David Jones, and you make your dinner plans via Qantas Restaurants.
”And of course (this) announcement means you can start earning points from the moment you wake up and hit the gym.
“Most of our members tell us that the reward they’re saving for is flights or upgrades, but there are also many less well-known ways to redeem points including on kitchen appliances, iPads, Garmin Vivofits, Bugaboo prams and magazine subscriptions.”
The partnership enables existing Snap Fitness customers to link their Qantas Frequent Flyer number to their Snap Fitness membershipto earn the same 100 points each month.
The link between Virgin Australia's Velocity and Jetts enables members to gain two Velocity Points per dollar spent on their gym membership, including on joining fee costs and ‘access pass fees’ for new members.
Members who visit a Jetts gym five times or more each month to earn a bonus 60 Velocity Points as a reward for their workouts.
