Snap Fitness launches five new clubs in five weeks

Leading fitness franchise Snap Fitness has completed the opening of its fifth new club in just five weeks across four states as it moves towards 300 clubs across Australia and New Zealand.

With new locations in Queensland, NSW, Victoria and Western Australia, the opening spree brings Snap Fitness ANZ network total to 274 clubs.

Advising that the busy opening schedule comes as the brand adapts to modern consumer trends, and is just the beginning of further expansion with an additional 13 sites already secured for 2020 openings, Snap Fitness Chief Executive Ty Menzies stated “the local gym used to be a place where you went solely to improve your physical health - not anymore.

“Snap Fitness is leading the way by introducing a broader offering for our communities, creating spaces focused more holistically on exercise, nutrition, sleep and social wellness.”

Innovations currently being rolled out to clubs include functional zones, high-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) group workouts and technology-based results tracking.

Menzies adds “Snap Fitness memberships now come with access to Myzone technology, giving members the option to wear a heart rate monitor to track their progress, compare their scores with others and get the most from their workouts.

“It’s all about staying at the forefront of fitness technology, and with advancements coming faster than ever before we’re committed to staying ahead of global consumer trends to continually bring new innovations to our expanding network for our members.”

Snap Fitness clubs typically require a 500 metre² footprint in a central, accessible location, making space a key priority for its property team when identifying a new territory for a club.

Menzies (pictured) went on to explain “we bring the features of a big box gym to the local community in a much more accessible environment and in locations that are convenient for our members.

“With a strict location checklist to make sure we find the perfect space, this can often be the most challenging part of a new opening, but it’s integral to the success of our clubs.”

Looking ahead, Menzies concluded “we have another five club openings still to come this year, and thirteen already in the works for 2020, so we’re running full pace into the New Year.”

The recent openings have been at Rochedale and Hervey Bay in Queensland, Beecroft and Haberfield in NSW and Morley in Western Australia.
