Diana Williams explains move to Fernwood’s new FusionX studios

Following the launch of the group’s first FusionX studio in January, Fernwood Women’s Health Clubs Managing Director Diana Williams has explained the motivation behind the creation of the new brand that fuses high intensity exercise with mindful movements and meditation to be time and life efficient.

Williams sees that Fernwood Fusion answers consumer demand for specialised wellness services and spaces, and safe women’s-only environments, as well as providing investment opportunities for small business operators to run a compact studio with both premium services and lower overhead costs.

With its first studio opened in the Melbourne suburb of Richmond now open, and second location to open in Mordialloc, Williams explains “we are elated to see the doors to our flagship Fernwood Fusion Richmond studio open wide. Fernwood Fusion has been in the pipeline for many years now, and we have kept a diligent eye on the industry and consumer markets for the ideal time to launch. We know now more than ever that women want variety and flexibility, so we have leveraged the highly revered Fernwood Fitness brand to develop a brand-new offering that delivers on consumer demand.

“Fernwood Fusion is the culmination of over 30 years of expertise in women’s health and fitness, reshaped to offer a concentrated fitness and wellness offering in a boutique studio environment. For the owner/s of a new Fernwood Fusion Franchise, the smaller development footprint of the studio means lower overhead costs, a cost-effective compact staff model, sustainable business model, and a lucrative place in the fitness industry

“The Fernwood Fusion franchise model is complimentary to the traditional Fernwood Fitness model, as it increases consumer choice and availability. Many of our existing franchisees from within the Fernwood Fitness network have expressed interest in cross-ownership, with plans to expand their offerings in 2022 and beyond.

“Our Fusion studios have a different offering, a different layout, but its foundations are built on the success of 33 years’ experience in this market, bringing together our knowledge and expertise of providing an exemplary exercise experience for women’s holistic health.”

As consumers, Williams (pictured) says women have confidence in joining the Fernwood community knowing they are supported by decades of expertise in women’s health and fitness, with the luxury of choice to select the facility that best suits their lifestyle, location, interests, and aspirations.

She notes “life is busy at the best of times, but we all know the importance of implementing daily measures to safeguard our health and wellbeing. Mental health, physical health and social health are all pivotal for overall health, vitality, and quality of life.

“Exercise, in its many forms, has so much to offer, from supporting mental health and wellbeing, to reducing the risk of lifestyle illnesses, through to better sleep, and improved mood, as well as often supporting life stages such menstruation, pre- and post-natal, pelvic floor conditions, menopause, and running around after children.

“As women, we take it all in our stride, but we all need to find time to fill up our own cup and prioritise our own health and wellbeing. The expansion of our Fernwood Fitness and Fusion networks opens up even more opportunities for women - both from a health and fitness perspective, but also career prospects.”

The two Melbourne clubs are the first of many Fernwood Fusion studios to launch nationally.
