Fernwood Fitness recognised in 2021 Topfranchise Awards

Leading female health, fitness and wellness franchise business Fernwood Women’s Health Clubs has been recognised as a leading franchise business in the 2021 Topfranchise Awards this week.

Fernwood Fitness walked away with awards in five of the six categories, including being listed as a top three franchise in the Topfranchise Passion category.

Fernwood was also listed in the top 10 within the Marketing, Branding, Lifestyle and Expansion categories, as well as the Overall Top 10 Franchise category.

Fernwood Women’s Health Clubs Managing Director Diana Williams was elated by the announcement, saying she was incredibly proud of the entire Fernwood community, especially for their efforts over the past 18 months.

Williams advised “what a magnificent achievement to be recognised in the 2021 Topfranchise Awards, especially after 18 months of riding this pandemic roller coaster up and down and around. Congratulations to all Fernwood Fitness staff and franchisees for continuously demonstrating the power of women (and a few fellas too) supporting women. My heart is bursting with pride for our community.

“We are humbled to be recognised in the 2021 Topfranchise Awards. Not only for the recognition of our hardworking and passionate staff, but for what it signifies for our relationships with our franchisees. Our franchisees are at the heart of everything we do, and there is honestly no better feeling than leading a franchise network where your rapport with your community is strong, steady and prosperous.”

In a statement on the awards and the current operating climate for fitness franchises, Fernwood advised that it is emerging stronger than ever after what can only be described as a chaotic 18 months within the bricks and mortar fitness industry, noting that “even after months (and months) of repeated closures and re-opens, the Fernwood Fitness community has rallied together to become stronger than ever, finding new and agile ways to retain business viability and growth during the ongoing global pandemic.”

Supporting its current position, Fernwood shared statements from its franchisees:

“It is a strong business model and is very rewarding in every way, and not only financially. Fernwood has set up great systems which are easy to learn and follow even for someone who is new to the fitness industry.”

“Our franchisor and team pave the way for being leaders in our industry, constantly evolving and growing our business opportunities.”

“Fernwood Fitness is constantly evolving and keeping ahead of the curve which is critical in business. The National Support Office team are very supportive and has shown true leadership, especially during our pandemic.”

“When I first started Fernwood 32 years ago, I never intended for it to be a franchise model. But I am so pleased that is what it became. One of the key aspects that makes our network so strong is our empowered community, and the enthusiasm to share ideas, strategies and successes,” Diana says.

“I feel so proud of our community. I know we can face any challenge that comes our way and emerge stronger than ever, together.”

Fernwood has also recently launched its new premium franchise brand, Fernwood Fusion, with two studios set to open in the coming months, featuring HIIT-style wellness workouts, Reformer Pilates and specialised yoga.

Williams concluded “every year brings new challenges and opportunities, and I am so proud to be part of a franchise community that continues to rise above the status quo.”
