IHRSA partners with Australia’s Fitness and Recreation Industry Technology Summit

As part of its mission to strengthen and unify the global health and fitness industry, the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) has partnered with Australia’s Fitness and Recreation Industry Technology Summit (FRITS).

After a successful inaugural event in 2019 and numerous COVID setbacks during the past 18 months, FRITS will return in 2022, promising to be “bigger and better”, according to event founder Justin Tamsett.

The two-day educational event will be held 22nd and 23rd February at the Dockside in Sydney’s Cockle Bay Wharf.

The Asia-Pacific region’s only fitness and recreation technology event of its type, the Summit aims to show attendees how to improve fitness-related businesses’ efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability using technology.

FRITS attendees will learn how collected data displays how customers think, what they do, and what they want.

Advising of the global health and fitness association’s support, John Holsinger, Director of IHRSA Asia-Pacific, commented “IHRSA is driven by the global nature of our industry today, and it is great to see this unique event focusing on the fastest and easiest way to get ‘global’… virtually.

“Bringing these valuable concepts together to help concentrate an operator’s attention to the detail they will need to be relevant in the future is extremely important and could help both the converted and those still undecided on how to use technology to utilise it as a major part of each business model in the next ‘normal.’”

Tamsett, Managing Director of Active Management and FRITS founder, is delighted to have IHRSA’s support for the event, adding “for Australians, it will be impossible to get to Dallas for IHRSA 2021 this year, so to have IHRSA having a presence Down Under at our event shows IHRSA really cares about our international industry.

“Supporting the Summit shows they truly are global."

Delegates in 2022 can expect to take part in:

  • Educational sessions,

  • Expert panels,

  • Technology based boutique trade show,

  • Networking opportunities, and

  • The Inaugural FRITS Award Gala Dinner with the presentation of the first Technology Awards for gyms, studios and suppliers.

IHRSA, The Global Health & Fitness Association, is a not-for-profit trade association representing the global fitness industry of over 200,000 health and fitness facilities and their suppliers
