Justin Tamsett joins REX Chairs Team in United States

Leading fitness industry consultant Justin Tamsett has joined the REX Chairs team - an advisory board composed of 15-18 successful chief executives - in the United States.

Tamsett joins REX Chairs Brent Darden, Mark Miller, Will Phillips and Eddie Tock - together offering a combined 163 years’ experience in the fitness industry.

Tock, Chief Executive of REX Roundtables advises “REX Roundtables is the longest running business and personal development program in the fitness industry.

“Will Phillips, the founder of REX Roundtables started in 1989 and currently have over 250 REX members that own over 2,000 clubs worldwide.  We have REX Roundtables operating in the US, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South America, and the Middle East.  And we’re excited to have JT join our US Team of Chairs.”

Founded in 1989, a REX Roundtable is an advisory board composed of successful chief executives who meet regularly to help each other improve the performance of their business and the quality of their personal lives. REX carefully crafts the chemistry of each Roundtable so there are no competitors, strong similarities, yet a broad range of complementary expertise among the members.

Tock added “Mary Laudati has been leading our Roundtables for Sales Managers, Marketing Directors and Personal Training Directors and moves on to a new opportunity outside the industry. Her passion, energy and insights will be greatly missed. Tamsett will take over as chair of these Roundtables as well as a new Club Owners REX Roundtable by mid-2020. He will also continue to run his four Roundtables in Australia.”

An industry veteran of 30 years, Tamsett has had the REX license in Australia since 2005 and conducted over 200 meetings in Australia and New Zealand.  He has spoken in 22 countries and in 2020 will speak for the 15th consecutive year at IHRSA.  He is the owner of The Fitness Business Podcast.

Tock also noted “JT’s international experience and network will add a new layer of expertise to our REX program in the US.”

Tamsett commented “I have a personal goal of having more people move and move more often, to lower the health care costs across the globe. I believe that working with owners, marketers, sales people and PT’s we can achieve this together. REX Roundtables is the perfect forum to learn from each other, share best practices and challenge each other to grow. I am super excited for this opportunity.

“Joining a roundtable was the first thing I did when I opened my first club back in 1994. When I sold my club, running roundtables became my passion as I had experienced the benefits. Those benefits were both personal and professional. Roundtable members are so supportive that life becomes easier knowing you have a group of people who understand what you are going through in business.”

Currently there are 12 REX roundtable groups in the US, three in Europe and four in Australia, with over 250 successful executives and club owners. REX will be forming one new fitness and two new Tennis Roundtables for owners and directors in 2020.  REX has proven to be a highly effective way to rapidly produce significant improvements to revenue and profitability.
