Fitness and Recreation Industry Technology Summit 2022 to be an online event

With uncertainty over the staging of events due to the spread of Omicron, the organisers of the 2022 Fitness and Recreation Industry Technology Summit (FRITS), that was due to run in Sydney on 22nd and 23rd February, have advised that the Summit will now be held virtually on Friday 8th April.

Postponed in 2020 and 2021, Summit founder Justin Tamsett had adapted the event to run as a series of monthly webinars, but had been confident that FRITS could be staged as a face-to-face event as of next month.

However, in a communication to stakeholders on Friday he advised “as you are aware COVID has impacted attendance numbers dramatically”, adding that potential attendees from outside of NSW that in “the current environment they are not willing to travel”.

As a result, the FRITS 2022 will be staged as Virtual Summit on Friday 8th April.

Tamsett explained “we think the best way to deliver the appropriate value to our sponsors, attendees and the industry is to move online.

“While an expensive decision for us, a move to a virtual event format will provide you an even better opportunity to connect with owners and managers.”

The FRITS team is currently finalising the program and setting up the platform (the event will be on Airmeet) which will include:

  • A one day virtual summit 8am to 4:30pm (AEST) on Friday 8th April

  • Two keynote presentations to launch and close the day

  • Seven x 45 minute concurrent session blocks - with 10 sessions already locked in but 21 in planning progress

  • A virtual exhibition

  • A networking lounge with speed networking options

Free to attend, FRITS has have engaged major industry peak bodies to assist in promotion.

In addition, all sessions will be recorded and made available, along with 16 hours of content recorded in 2021 via www.fitnessindustrytechsummit.com.au .

Access to the recordings will be available to purchase for $165 with sponsors being able to distribute their unique discount code for $100 off.
