New Zadi studios plan to ‘disrupt’ female fitness
A new female high-intensity interval training (HIIT) fitness concept, which claims it will “disrupt the industry”, is set for its formal launch in the next month.
Set to commence operations at two studios in the Sydney suburbs of Surry Hills and Neutral Bay, ZADI describes itself as a new fitness “movement” offering members “female-specific workout programs endorsed by exercise science, 'Australian first' bespoke innovative technology and a fitness destination for strong and empowered likeminded women.”
Co-founded by Adala Bolto and Fernwood female fitness Chief Executive Diana Williams, ZADI workouts are female specific HIIT and functional combination using the most effective metabolic circuit training methods.
Bolto, ZADI Training’s Managing Director of ZADI Training, sees that the “movement ... will play an integral part in one of the highest growth sectors in the fitness industry - promising to ‘connect a community of likeminded women’ who are inspiring, empowered and passionate.”
ZADI’s workouts have been developed in collaboration with leading Exercise Physiologist Damien Kelly using Technogym equipment and custom technology exclusive to ZADI studios.
Explaining the thinking behind the creation of the new concept, a statement from ZADI explains “fitness boutiques are disrupting the industry whereby traditional gyms are having to adapt to the changes that millennials and the younger generation are demanding.
“Connecting with a likeminded community, flexible specialised services, bespoke programs and the latest technology are just a few of their ‘requirements’.”
The statement also advises:
• Women are driving a change in the fitness industry. Training Maestro for the Australian Institute of Fitness, Nardia Norman, explains “we will see female-specific programs becoming mainstream. There’s a rise of influential female body positive professionals taking on weight loss and parts of the fitness industry that capitalise on women’s body insecurities. Together with an increase in female specific research and an empowered female consumer, we will see more programs dedicated to women’s training and health.”
• Millennials are opting out of their gym membership and services such as small boutique classes, online streaming services and Boot Camp are replacing their gym membership, according to an article published on news.com.au (New York Post), 17th October 2016.
• Boutique studios represent a larger-than-ever slice of the fitness pie - 42% of the market as of 2014, a 100% over 2013, according to the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association.
• HIIT in demand. As per annual surveys from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), “High intensity interval training has been a consistently high-ranking trend on the forecast in recent years, appearing in the top three since 2014.”
