Sponsorship deal sees oval at Perth’s HBF Arena renamed Pentanet Stadium
HBF Arena Joondalup Oval has been renamed Pentanet Stadium under a change of its commercial naming rights arrangements.
Pentanet is a Perth-based, growth-focused internet and cloud-gaming company. The name change is part of Pentanet’s two year Principal Partner sponsorship with the West Perth Football Club. Pentanet joins the footy club’s membership of over 10,000 in supporting the Falcon’s upcoming season.
Pentanet Stadium will serve as the main sporting ground for HBF Arena, with Pentanet seeking to reactivate the Joondalup sporting ground and create a space for esports and a digital future with the view of engaging schools and the local community.
Pentanet Managing Director Stephen Cornish notes “every telco needs its own sporting ground. Joondalup is home to the very first tower Pentanet built, so we are delighted to increase our involvement in a community that’s supported us from day one. Pentanet is a grassroots WA business and local team and we’re proud to be supporting a fantastic club like the Falcons at a homeground in our local stomping ground, and being able to stay connected with our community.”
West Perth Football Club President, Dr Neale Fong notes “West Perth Football club is extremely excited to advance the club's goals to grow football, not only in West Perth but in general. This is a great partnership and we intend to work hard alongside Pentanet for the next two years to bring value, not just to Pentanet, but to our club and community.
“The stadium’s internet is already powered by Pentanet, but we know Pentanet can power so much more within West Perth Football Club. We have no doubt there will be a positive impact on the community through this partnership, with the chance to have more kids involved in football and with the club. This is only going to improve the health and wellbeing of our community and foster a love of football.”
West Perth Football Club Senior Coach Darren Harris enthused “partnerships like this one with Pentanet allow a group to succeed not only on the field, but off the field as well. Partnerships like this are the backbone of WAFL clubs. Having Pentanet on board is not only important, but it’s a thrilling time. To be working with a WA company who have the best interests of the local community at heart is a great thing for the club, the players and the game.”
West Perth Football Club Chief Executive Joe McCarthy added “seeing businesses getting back to grassroots is a big deal for us at West Perth Football Club, and with 8,000 kids in local junior programs, we can’t wait to see thousands of Pentanet logos flying around the skies this season.”
In addition to the West Perth Football Club, Pentanet has been the Principal Partner of the Perth Wildcats for the past three seasons and owns esports team Pentanet.GG.
The new naming rights arrangement does change HBF's sponsorship of the Arena Joondalup.
