Netball SA set to seek naming rights partner for Adelaide’s Home of Netball facility

After a busy off-season re-signing key sponsors, Netball SA has advised that it will soon be in the market for a naming rights sponsor for its new $18 million Home of Netball development.

With the new Home of Netball, backed by both Federal and South Australian Government funding, set to become one of the most used sporting facilities in the state, Netball SA Chief Executive, Bronwyn Klei, told Sponsorship News “the precinct at Mile End will be the second most used sporting facility in South Australia outside of the Adelaide Oval.”

Due to be the home court for the Adelaide Thunderbirds, the new centre will be available for players from junior levels right through to the Premier League, Super Netball and Saturday morning netball for grassroots players.

Key sponsorship renewals for Netball SA include Comwire IT, Dr Jones & Partners Medical Imaging, and Woolworths. Local juice company, Nippy’s has extended into its 20th season with the Thunderbirds.

The 2022 season will be the second and final year of Subway’s contract as major sponsor on the front of the team’s playing kit.

The Thunderbirds have a new charity partner in The Hospital Research Foundation Group which operates throughout South Australia. The Foundaation will use the Super Netball franchise’s platform to distribute positive health and well-being messages to women and girls throughout the state.

With the Super Netball season set to start later this month, Klei noted that the new broadcast deal on Fox Sports/Kayo, would be a “game changer” for the competition, adding “there will be a little transition from free-to-air to the Kayo and Fox Sports platforms, but I think the eyeballs that we’ll get through those platforms will be huge for the sport.”
