Two new board members appointed at VenuesWest
The VenuesWest board, which oversees Western Australia's major sport and entertainment venues, has welcomed two new members - Chris Massey and Guy Houston.
Announcing the appointments as of yesterday, Western Australian Sport and Recreation Minister, Tony Buti stated "I extend a warm welcome to both new board members, which comes at an exciting time for sport in our state.
"Both appointments bring with them decades of experience and I'm confident they will fulfil their roles and do a great job.”
Massey has been appointed as the University of Western Australia nominee and has more than 30 years of senior leadership experience in tertiary and secondary education, with significant exposure to the health and sport sectors.
Meanwhile, Houston's appointment to the board brings decades of experience in communications, politics and government affairs in both the public and corporate sectors.
Massey has been appointed for a term of 18 months starting from 1st January next year and expiring as of 30th June 2023. Houston's appointment is for a term of two years, expiring on 25th October 2023.
The VenuesWest board also includes Graham Goerke, Mary Anne Stephens, Michelle Hoad, Donna Oxenham, Kaylene Gulich, Priya Cooper and Scott Henderson.
Minister Buti also noted the “valuable contribution to VenuesWest” made by outgoing board members Linda Wayman and Paul Johnson.
