Returning to full capacity operations sees Perth’s Optus Stadium and RAC Arena look to recruit

The return of Perth’s major venues to 100% capacity means that Optus Stadium and RAC Arena are on the lookout for staff.

With crowd limits scrapped across Western Australia, both venues search for staff to fill food and beverage, customer service and logistics roles has been described by 7News as a “jobs bonanza” for the city.

The coming days will see large crowds at Optus Stadium for tonight’s West Coast Eagles v Collingwood AFL clash, predicted to be biggest crowd in the southern hemisphere since COVID-19 hit.

Up to 13,000 are expected at RAC Arena to watch the Wildcats play Illawarra Hawks tonight while at the Claremont Showgrounds, the Froth Town beer festival, running from Friday to Sunday, is expected to attract around 10,000 people.

7News advise that Optus Stadium needs to fill around 600 positions straight away while the RAC Arena is currently recruiting 80 jobs and will have another 300 positions once touring events start.

With hospitality venues are already on the lookout for new staff, Western Australian Sport and Recreation Minister, Tony Buti stated “with the end of JobSeeker this is the perfect opportunity for people to put up their hand.”
