Lilydale Squash and Fitness Centre in Melbourne rebrands as Genesis Health and Fitness site

Much-loved community hub - Lilydale Squash and Fitness Centre in Melbourne - is to receive a $3million upgrade as it rebrands as a Genesis Health and Fitness site.

The expansive site will be 1800 square metres across two levels and will be redeveloped to include a huge gym floor with state-of-the-art equipment, three group fitness studios, a small group training Coaching Zone, Reformer Pilates studio, martial arts training space, swimming school and more.

Local fitness instructor and personal trainer Beaux Glenn (pictured above) will take the reins as the new franchisee, saying the opportunity was too exciting to refuse.

Glenn, who currently operates boutique group fitness studio DynamicCardio in Lilydale, enthused “I am so glad the journey can keep going and that I can continue the fantastic vibe the former owners Mal and Mandy Harvey created for the community to enjoy.

“I am most excited about offering variation in Lilydale, all at one amazing hub. Members will be able to experience all aspects of training to better their health, body and mind.

“New is the word! Brand new equipment, various workout areas, the best group training and fitness programs available and a motivated, enthusiastic team that share a strong drive to support people in health and fitness across all levels.”

Genesis Chief Executive Ian Jensen-Muir said the brand was thrilled to add another Victorian location, bringing the total number of clubs in the state to 14.

“We’re particularly excited about this site because it’s already so well loved by the community. We will respect the amazing work the former owners have done and continue the great service they have offered the community for 40 years.

The club is currently being redeveloped and plans to re-open early September with its exciting new offering.

The site is located at 446 Maroondah Hwy Lilydale and will also have an existing beauty and hairdressing salon connected to the centre.
