Genesis Fitness plans 60 clubs by mid 2013
Genesis Fitness Clubs have been outlining their ongoing development plans, with Chief Executive David Lowe revealing that the chain plans to be operating "at least 60 clubs by this time next year."
Currently operating 52 clubs, Genesis' growth is being been facilitated by a management model which encompasses three different ownership structures (owned and operated clubs; joint venture clubs; and fully franchised clubs).
Having recently undergone an extensive rebranding with a redesigned website and enhanced Facebook, the Genesis family has recently introduced a new product offering with fully serviced 24/7 clubs.
Genesis currently offers five of these facilities; at Coffs Harbour, Casuarina and Tweed Heads as well as just opened clubs in Mayfield and Rutherford
The chain has also been undertaking wide-ranging membership promotions including, during June, a competition to win a new Volkswagen Polo.
The competition, open to everyone who joined a Genesis Fitness Club in June, was won by Rodney Howe of Maitland, NSW and resulted in over 4,000 new members signing up across Australia.
Genesis Marketing Manager, Danielle Flood explains "the promotion proved to be the extra motivation people needed to make the commitment to get fit.
"We're delighted to welcome so many new members and to have such a great winner in Rodney."
Genesis Fitness also has a strong partnership with Make-A-Wish Australia. Each July the chain runs a Birthday campaign where we donate all joining fees to Make-A-Wish Australia. In 2011, Genesis raised in excess of $30,000 for the charity and this year it is aiming for $40,000.
