Belgravia Health and Fitness announces new Genesis franchisee in Cairns
Belgravia Health and Fitness has announced that Genesis Health and Fitness has a new franchisee - Damien Spann - for its Cairns Redlynch club.
Spann will take ownership of the site today (14th December) after acquiring the business from Genesis Health and Fitness’ parent company Belgravia Health and Fitness.
The Redlynch site is one of five Genesis Health and Fitness clubs in the region, and currently has over 1,500 members - with 2021 being Redlynch’s 10th year in operation.
Spann is no stranger to owning a fitness business, having over 10 years’ clinical experience as an exercise physiologist; seven of those having included owning his own fitness rehabilitation centre, FNQ Allied Health.
When asked about the decision to join Genesis Health and Fitness as a franchisee, Spann advised “with the support and encouragement of my lovely wife, I decided it was time to take the leap and look to broaden my business horizons and step into the unknown of a new challenge.
“The Genesis brand appealed to me greatly here in Cairns with their professional image and reputation. The ongoing support and partnership feel in becoming a franchisee with a growing and reputable name in Genesis made it easy for me to know that they were the right fit for what I wanted to do.
“I'm excited to see the Redlynch site move into the 24-hour space and look forward to maintaining and improving its image and community involvement.”
Belgravia Health and Fitness Chief Executive, Ian Jensen-Muir said it’s great to bring a new franchisee into the Genesis business in Cairns, particularly one with the knowledge and qualities of Spann.
Jensen-Muir added “we look for to serving the Cairns community together for the years to come.”
