Belgravia Leisure and the Gamer Academy combine to deliver esports and education program
Belgravia Leisure is providing seven free 'Device Provided' tickets - worth $250 each - for seven lucky teenagers to attend the inaugural Gamer Academy workshop.
Gamer Academy, developed from a partnership with The Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE) and Critical Hit Entertainment, is a fun two-day workshop for youth aged 14 to 17 years combining aspects of game development and esports.
Participants will learn directly from highly qualified and accredited instructors and hear from industry experts on what makes a great game with topics to include game design, coding and game art; what esports is and how to get into sports; and how to secure a career in gaming.
The school holiday program is an opportunity for teenagers who love the gaming world and incorporating that into a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
Throughout the workshop teens will work in groups to trial game design, art, coding and pitching game ideas to each other, incorporating real life sporting experience and sports skills practiced over the workshop and incorporating this into game design and development.
Partnered and supported by a number of industry leaders AIE is Australia's most awarded 3D animation, game design and visual FX educator with courses available for school leavers.
Critical Hit Entertainment (also known as Australian Esports League), a leader in gaming competitions and esports events.
The first workshop is being held in Western Sydney at Liverpool’s Michael Clarke Recreation Centre on 21st and 22nd January.
