Belgravia Leisure announces reopening of all Australian and New Zealand facilities

Belgravia Leisure has today announced all facilities will reopen today - 23rd June - following the relaxing of COVID-19 restrictions in New Zealand and in every state in Australia.

With the exception of seasonal pools that would otherwise be closed for the winter, Belgravia Leisure facilities will reopen under the relevant Stage 2 or 3 restrictions in line with government regulations.

Among the Belgravia Leisure staff excited to be returning to work after weeks of careful planning, the team at Annette Kellerman Aquatic Centre in NSW, who reopened their gym facilities last week, are pleased to once again provide a safe swimming environment when their pools reopen today.

Annette Kellerman Aquatic Centre Manager, Rosie Keogh advised "we have had an overwhelming response to our reopening since the NSW state government announced that restrictions will be eased.

“Our centre is a community hub for our members and most of our staff have become accustomed to seeing these members every day. Our members, like ourselves, are missing the daily interactions and the community feel that the centre provides.”

During the government mandated shutdown period, Belgravia Leisure facilities underwent deep cleaning and careful planning to ensure that all centres would reopen to the highest safety and hygiene standards to keep staff and patrons safe from possible infection.

Specific changes to leisure facilities will include:

• Card payments preferred at all facilities
• Restrictions per lane for casual swimmers
• More regular cleaning of facilities
• Shower facilities may be closed depending on government restrictions
• Sauna and steam room facilities may be closed depending on government restrictions
• Social distancing is required in all areas of the venue, which means some adjustments are required in programming
• Bookings may be required at some facilities for classes, swimming or health club use dependent on government regulations
• All users must swipe or sign in as part of COVID-19 contact tracing
Belgravia Leisure Chief Executive, Nick Cox added "we have used the government mandated shutdown period to carefully plan our reopening with a focus on the safety of our patrons and staff as the highest priority. Our facilities are essential to the local communities in helping locals stay healthy and fit and we wanted to ensure that they felt confident in returning to a safe environment to meet their fitness goals.
