Genesis Health and Fitness partners with industry influencer Mel Tempest
As part of a range of changes taking account of consumers’ shifts in behaviour, Genesis Health + Fitness has announced that it is partnering with fitness business influencer Mel Tempest.
As a well-regarded expert in the industry with over 20 years’ experience, Tempest - whose own Ballarat club joined the Genesis franchise network in 2019 - will not only consult on key projects including the group’s adding further wellness options through the introduction of Reformer Pilates, and updating its group exercise programs, but will also share them with her 220,000 online audience - made up of fitness enthusiasts, owners and entrepreneurs - through inviting Genesis Health + Fitness to take part in her monthly podcasts, The Gym Owners Fitness Business Podcast and The Women’s Leaders Fitness Business Podcast.
Discussions through Tempest’s 10 social media pages and Ignite Fitness Business events will also feature in the partnership.
Commenting on the partnership, Genesis Health + Fitness Chief Executive, Ian-Jensen-Muir stated “we see this partnership with Mel - who in addition to being a well-regarded expert in the industry, is part of our network of Genesis Health + Fitness franchisees - as being a great opportunity to work together to engage with the health and fitness industry and take part in key conversations on what’s currently happening in our industry.”
Welcoming her additional role, Tempest (pictured) added “my skill and passion are to advance businesses through innovation, technology and programming. In partnering with Genesis Health + Fitness, I’m thrilled and excited about the positive impact we can create in the health and fitness industry together as a team.”
Mel Tempest writes on the contradiction of overseas interest in Australian fitness at a time of unprecedented stress in a feature in the latest (number 145) issue of Australasian Leisure Management.
