YMCA Brisbane to end management of Cairns fitness and recreation facility
YMCA Brisbane has given notice to Cairns Regional Council that it is terminating its contract to manage the Marlin Coast Leisure Centre.
YMCA has been managing the two court indoor stadium with grandstand seating centre, often known as the Smithfield YMCA, for many years offering a wide range of fitness, recreation and sport programs.
Popular programs at the Council owned facility include boxing, gymnastics, netball, indoor football, karate and basketball.
It also has air-conditioned group fitness room – The Fit Room offering a range of exercise and group fitness classes including RPM (spin), Pilates, yoga, Pump Attack, ROAR, Zumba, Cardio Jab and Kettlecore.
YMCA Brisbane has not provided a reason for ending its management.
Cairns Regional Council has now released a tender for new management for the facility. Click here for details on the Australasian Leisure Management Tenders page.
