Lakeside Leisure Centre's new cafe offers ‘traffic light’ system for healthy eating options
Belgravia Leisure managed Lakeside Leisure Centre in Raymond Terrace, NSW opened its new Swell Café to guests on 7th April offering an easy-to-use ‘traffic light’ system for healthy eating options.
Swell Cafés are growing quickly in Belgravia Leisure venues across Australia, providing a range of healthy eating alternatives for millions of guests that attend its facilities each year.
The café represents a significant upgrade for Lakeside Leisure Centre, offering a more comfortable space for the local community to enjoy, with clean healthy food, great coffee and consistent service every time. The ‘traffic light’ system ndicates whether a menu offering is the ‘best choice’, should be ‘chosen carefully’, or should be ‘limited’.
The new café was developed in a partnership between Port Stephens Council and Belgravia Leisure, which manages Lakeside Leisure Centre. Significant financial contributions from both parties have helped to ensure the facility offers a fresh and vibrant atmosphere for its guests.
Kate Corbett, Centre Manager at Lakeside Leisure Centre advised “a lot of work has gone into setting up our new cafe. We’ve had a lot of help from Council and from the Belgravia team, and we really appreciate everyone’s support. Now we’re looking forward to welcoming guests to our new space and bringing the community together.”
A ribbon cutting ceremony was performed by Councillor Peter Francis of Port Stephens Council. Also in attendance were Councillor Giacomo Arnott; Glenys Francis, Freeman of Port Stephens; Charles Shaddock and Cameron Donaldson, representing Port Stephens Council; and several members of the Belgravia Leisure team.
Kieran Foley, Area Manager – NSW (North) for Belgravia Leisure added “the new Swell Café will be a great enhancement to Lakeside Leisure Centre. Kate and her team have been doing a terrific job at the venue, and the new café will just add to the great overall guest experience they’re providing. It should be a big plus for the local community in Raymond Terrace.”
