Funlab venues across Australia to raise funds for mental wellbeing
Funlab is delivering a ‘Day of Fun’ with $8 offers across all of its popular venues in Australia with proceeds going to national youth mental health organisation, headspace.
Funlab’s annual Day of Fun returns on 22nd October 2024 for its 8th year in a row and for one day only of activities reduced to the flat rate of $8.
With bookings now open, discounted activity slots across Funlab venues include Holey Moley, Hijinx Hotel, Strike Bowling and Archie Brother’s Cirque Electriq. With this being the 8th year of Day of Fun, Funlab is looking to raise the bar on its fundraising goal, with a bid to raise $400,000, its largest goal to date.
With more than 45 venues nationally, guests can enjoy discounted activities up to 90% off. Day of Fun provides the opportunity for friends and families to immerse themselves in the wonderful and wacky world of fun offered at Funlab venues; with proceeds from all sales helping raise money for an important and deserving charity.
Funlab Chief Executive Michael Schreiber said they are honoured to be working with headspace once again and hope this year reaches a new milestone for an important cause.
Schreiber noted “we are very proud of our long-term relationship with headspace, raising funds for youth mental health while having fun doing it! It’s been the perfect charity partnership, showcasing the power of meaningful connections - so being able to help create this through our network of Funlab venues has been nothing short of special.”
The charity day will raise funds towards headspace centres, as well as headspace’s Online Communities, a real-time peer-led group chat service held by young people, for young people.
Peer Support Moderators from across Australia are trained to provide support and online moderation on topics including: navigating relationships, coping with tough times, Work and Study and supporting LGBTQIA+ young people. In FY23, headspace Online Communities were used more than 110,000 times and ran 153 peer chats on said topics.
headspace CEO Jason Trethowan said teaming up with Funlab is a perfect fit, because both organisations understand how important connections with friends and family are for young people’s wellbeing.
The most recent headspace National Youth Mental Health Survey of young Australians found that when asked what the best thing that happened to them that week was, the most common answer was spending time with family and friends – mentioned by one in six (17%).
Trethowan added “spending time connecting with friends and taking part in activities we enjoy can lift our energy levels, build our confidence and help us to get through hard times. That’s why we’re proud to again be partnering with Funlab for their annual Day of Fun, which is a great opportunity to get together, have fun, and raise funds for the mental health and wellbeing of all young Australians.
“Funlab’s significant contributions to headspace have helped us provide timely and accessible support to more and more young people across Australia. We’re proud to work alongside Funlab for Day of Fun because, like us, they know that young people are amazing, and with the right support can overcome tough times and get back on track.”
Pre-booking is essential to secure an activity on 22nd October, while Archie Brothers and B.Lucky & Sons remain available for walk-ins only.
