Funlab launches new virtual offerings

Entertainment and hospitality provider Funlab which includes the popular Holey Moley, Strike Bowling, B. Lucky & Sons, Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq, Juke’s and Sky Zone, has announced the introduction of new virtual offerings - ‘Virtual Escape Rooms’, ‘Virtual Trivia’ and ‘Virtual Funlympics’.

Funlab are taking their events and directional entertainment concepts from the physical to the virtual in the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Funlab advise that earlier this year in March, when Lockdown 1.0 restrictions were put in place, they hosted 288 free ZOOM parties, hosting 4,960 guests. From Lockdown 2.0, the new ZOOM party numbers have grown month on month to 24 in June, 64 in July and 81 in August “with everyone from Crown to Channel 7, Woolies, GPT and Goodlife gyms getting in on the action. Funlab’s ‘Virtual Parties’ have brought together 7,828 screens since launch.”

Funlab are on target to book 100 events per week across Australia by mid-September with an estimate of generating $2 - $2.5 million per annum in FY21. The organisation continues to evolve and innovate their new products, looking to proactively build on the progressive technology across each virtual experience.

COVID-19 created an opportunity for Funlab to remodel corporate team building and ways of connecting online. Funlab saw the benefits of team morale building activities, where employees interact off-site in settings encouraging fun being more important than ever for big businesses.

The vision is to expand this fresh Funlab virtual division globally into the US market, Asia and the UK. A crew of 150 team members, on a 24-hour roster are available to deliver 1,000 hours per day of hosted events – with a potential revenue worldwide to supersede $50million per annum.

Funlab Chief Executive, Michael Schreiber advises “Innovation is at our core and we have seen the opportunity to create a fun and unique experience that Funlab is known for, just now in an online format. Our new virtual division of Funlab focuses on creating fun digital parties targeting office workers who are now working from home - or anywhere.

“WFA (Working from Anywhere) is now a global trend; teams are working remotely without the multitude of social touch points that exist in a normal office environment, creating this need and desire for online interactive fun. We are providing creative and fun interventions for the non-stop meetings and online workshops we are all experiencing.”
