Funlab launches new Juke's Karaoke Bar concept at Crown Melbourne

Leading entertainment venue group Funlab has launched its latest brand, a 1970s themed karaoke venue, at the Crown Melbourne complex.

Funlab, which already offers Strike bowling and Holey Moley mini golf venues, is offering a new take on what Chief Executive Michael Schreiber has previously called “leisure-tainment”.

Juke's Karaoke Bar presents a psychedelic colour scheme, plenty of mirrors and mirrorballs, 70s -style and a bar, with the venue’s centrepiece being 10 private karaoke rooms accommodating between two to 25 people. While each suite boasts a different style and varying hues, they all come with velvet ottomans and couches, a stage and a stand-up microphone, backed by a prop box, complete with items like tambourines, maracas and feather boas.

Schreiber told entertainment website Broadsheet “everyone enjoys belting out a tune

“There’s always a bit of apprehension about karaoke, but once you get in that room and the mic’s in your hands your inner superstar will jump out.”

As with Funlab’s other venues, the aim at Juke’s is to get people to socialise with friends.

As Schreiber adds “we facilitate social fun. Going out with your mates, meeting them in real life, dressing up and having somewhere to go. We want everyone to have a good time, and karaoke is one of those experiences.”
