Funlab explores new ownership options

Leading Australian out-of-home entertainment company Funlab, the operator of Strike bowling bars as well as Sky Zone trampolines centres and Exitus escape rooms, is evaluating options for working with third parties.

A statement from the company explains a “number of third parties have expressed a genuine interest in partnering with the company or acquiring it.”

As a result, the statement adds “Funlab has initiated a process to formally review these approaches and explore opportunities to maximise the potential of the Company.”

Through its entertainment brands, Funlab delivers innovative and interactive experiences to over three million visitors per year.

Established in 2001, the business has grown to 16 venues generating around $50 million in revenue each year. The business employs over 500 people and is led by an experienced management team with the proven ability to identify, develop, launch and manage relevant entertainment concepts.

Funlab has appointed Lion Capital Advisory and HWL Ebsworth to manage the review process, which is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2016.

With 16 current locations across Australia, Funlab’s key offerings are 12 Strike locations (bowling anchored next generation entertainment product); four Sky Zone locations (indoor trampoline parks); 15 Exitus escape rooms plus a new mini golf offering, Holey Moley, to be launched later this year.
