FILEX transforms to meet demands of a new age of fitness education
Preparing to host the FILEX Leadership Summit and the FILEX Business Summit and Exhibition over the coming months, FILEX Holdings, the entity behind the events, has advised of a change in ownership structure to move the popular series forward in 2023 and beyond.
The industry led group that purchased the FILEX Convention on behalf of the industry in 2017 - consisting of Andrew Simmons, Justin McDonell, Bill Moore and Managing Partner David Allan, along with Fitness Australia (AUSactive) - has changed, with all parties except David Allan having divested their interests in the company.
Now, with investment from fitness business coach Dan Henderson, the founder of Dan Henderson Coaching and Director of the Functional Training Institute, Allan is confident about the future of Australia’s best known fitness conference brand.
Allan explains “we have had some changes with the ownership in FILEX, and welcome Dan Henderson as a partner.
“You may have seen Dan present at a previous FILEX Event. Dan has always been a crowd favourite at our events so to have him helping steer the direction is fantastic.
“A fitness business owner, business coach and experienced industry veteran Dan is excited to bring his expertise and energy to FILEX and we are certainly looking forward to the value that Dan will add to the future direction and ongoing success for FILEX.”
Introducing events being held this year, Allan advised “FILEX is the event where the industry comes to connect and we can’t wait to do so throughout the year.
“We commence our events for 2023 with the FILEX Leadership Summit (our invite only event) that is designed as an intimate connection for CEOS and founders of larger group businesses and suppliers.”
With the FILEX Business Summit and Exhibition running on 31st August and 1st September this year in Melbourne, Allan added “we are really looking forward to hosting FILEX in Melbourne as it has been a great location for the event previously.
“We’re seriously excited about the program for 2023 that includes the biggest names as well as the very valuable learning opportunities from your fellow fitness business owners across the country.”
Designed for all those in the business of fitness - trainers, coaches, managers, sales teams, studio and gym owners - to benefit from the leading presenters in the areas of: brand development; sales and marketing; technology; retention and customer experience; and leadership, the FILEX Business Summit is supported by the FILEX Business Exhibition where industry leading suppliers and service businesses showcase the latest and greatest equipment, services and supplies that will keep fitness businesses at the forefront. There is lots of time to engage, connect and network with these leading brands.
Allan went on to advise “we are still working through the best format and options for the previous Trainers Summit, that has provided cutting edge practical and technical sessions for trainers, group coaches and the like.
“We apologise that we don’t have more information available at this stage, however are working on the best way to connect and engage in this space.”
Allan concluded “we are genuinely excited for the future and are buoyed by the feedback we are receiving from the industry.”
