FILEX Leadership Summit a ground-breaking coming together of Australia’s fitness leaders

Marking an emphatic return to face-to-face events, the inaugural FILEX Leadership Summit has been completed in Sydney.

Bringing together a unique and never-before seen cross section of industry leaders and key stakeholders in a single location, the one-and-a-half-day event, staged at Sydney’s Ovolo Woolloomooloo at the end of last month included industry presentations by Barrie Elvish of Fitness Australia and event Platinum Partners Les Mills Asia Pacific, Myzone and Xplor (Debitsuccess and Clubware).

Key to the Summit was a series of presentations, hypotheticals and exercises presented by Summit Facilitator Professor Andrew Macleod.

Professor Macleod drew from his experience as a businessman, author, humanitarian lawyer and former international aid worker to explain and pose questions relating to humanitarian encounters, international commerce and trade.

Stretching delegates, Professor Macleod’s scenarios presented challenges that will doubtlessly benefit attendees in their business activities.

Commenting on the success of the event, FILEX General Manager, Anthony Read stated “the inaugural FILEX Leadership Summit was an experiment.

“We set out to bring together the fitness industry's key leaders and decision makers in order to workshop and strategise, with the grand intention of setting the course for our entire industry as we look forward to post-pandemic world. 

“It was an ambitious goal but based on the debates, the discussions, the actions and, of course, the feedback we've received from those involved, we surpassed our expectation.

“And because of that, we now believe that the FILEX Leadership Summit must be seen as a crucial date in the fitness industry's calendar.

“I would like to commend everyone involved, including our brilliant facilitator Professor Andrew Macleod, for their passion, knowledge and openness.

“It was, at times, confronting but everyone left the room on the final day feeling optimistic and energised.

FILEX will return with the FILEX Trainer Summit on 13th and 14th August and the FILEX Business Summit on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd September, with both events at the Hilton, Sydney.
