FILEX organisers announce new Business Summit dates

The organisers of FILEX have advised that after undertaking industry consultation its Business Summit will move from its original June dates and will now be held on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd September.

The move comes as fitness industry professionals and business leaders seek a reduction of the risk from another wave of COVID and whilst face-to-face events have recently reappeared, restrictions still apply limiting the opportunity for productive interaction.

FILEX General Manager, Anthony Reed advised that the new FILEX Business Summit dates allow for time to pass and restrictions to be eased or possibly lifted altogether, providing the industry with an event more conducive to learning and networking.

Reed explained “we could have kept the same dates and accepted a lesser event, but we want the FILEX Business Summit to be the best event of its type in Asia Pacific.

“It’s hard to do that when we are limited to our delegates having to stand two meters apart and restrict involvement in more interactive parts of the program like roundtables.

“Part of what we want to create is an environment specifically designed for business purposes, where people can sit down together, collaborate and plan future strategies.”

“When we reviewed our new-look schedule and I looked at the business leaders that will be joining us for the event, compromise simply wasn’t an option.

“The new dates give everybody extra peace of mind that the FILEX Business Summit will be the event for the business operators of the fitness industry. We have made this tough decision to ensure a premium event is delivered.”

The FILEX Business Summit is expanding in 2021 and will now be a full two-day event and brand new boutique expo, this year located in Sydney. Hosting 500 fitness business owners, managers and decision makers, the event will also include the new look Fitness Australia Business Awards presentations, a night where the industry comes together to celebrate its best and brightest.

FILEX Virtual Summit - 30th April and 1st May
Running exclusively online on Friday 30th April and Saturday 1st May, FILEX will be putting ‘Active Ageing’ at the centre of its agenda at its upcoming Virtual Summit.

Older people make up a considerable proportion of Australia’s population - in 2017 15% of Australians (3.8 million) were aged 65 and over and with a strong industry appetite for active ageing content world-class line up of speakers have been confirmed to talk to the importance of working with older populations and how best to engage with them to improve their quality of life as they age.
