Women’s Health and Fitness Summit provides opportunities to join industry speaking circuit
The Platform - which is an integral part of the annual Women’s Health and Fitness Summit - is an opportunity for four individuals to gain valuable training and experience to help new ans aspiring speakers join the industry speaking circuit.
Mish Wright, creator of the Women’s Health and Fitness Summit (being held on 10th and 11th November 2018 in Melbourne), believes the only way we can bring more attention to women’s health is to create a new wave of inspiring presenters who can deliver their important messages concisely and professionally.
Wright explains “in the age of the TED talk, it’s no longer acceptable to merely read from a PowerPoint. Nowadays, audiences expect to be entertained, as well as inspired by professional presenters.
“If we want women’s health to remain on the agenda, then our presentations must be of the highest level, in order to successfully secure the speaking opportunities and, ultimately, to deliver our key messages to the masses.”
The Platform is a highly coveted opportunity rarely available at any other formal conferences.
The four individuals selected as Platform presenters receive a comprehensive training package, which includes one-to-one mentoring over a six-month period. The complete package is specifically designed to ensure the selected individuals learn the skills, tools and techniques to deliver a professional, informative and inspiring presentation, with unwavering confidence. The program culminates at the Women’s Health and Fitness Summit, where each Platform presenter will deliver a 20-minute presentation that is polished to the point where they require no notes to follow, and they feel no desire to hide behind a lectern.
Previous Platform presenters include Christy Collier who, in 2015, delivered her presentation explaining the importance of exercise for women who are experiencing or who have experienced breast cancer.
Collier explains “being a presenter on The Platform was an absolutely wonderful experience. Not only did I receive amazing coaching, which enabled me to develop my content and skills, I also met and worked with the other Platform presenters who were truly amazing and inspiring women.
“The Platform has opened doors for me to present in other arenas, and has even generated a business opportunity. I would encourage all women who are interested in presenting to apply, because the possibilities that follow, are endless.”
Kylianne Farrell was also a Platform Presenter at the Women’s Health and Fitness Summit (WHFS) in 2015. Her experience resulted in selection to speak at FILEX 2017.
She recalls “when I applied for The Platform I had no idea of the adventure that was about to begin.
“I embarked on a journey of personal and professional growth, that allowed me to take risks despite fear; to take and create opportunities; and to connect with an incredible tribe of passionate and influential women, who are all at the forefront of creating change and committed to deeply impacting those around them.”
In 2018, the four individuals selected as Platform presenters will receive:
• Full free entry to WHFS 2018
• 20-minute presentation slot at WHFS18, speaking to an audience of 100 to 300 attendees
• Opportunity to network with other prestigious presenters in a relaxed and social environment
• Six months’ of ongoing mentoring (via Skype), to fully prepare you for your presentation
• Nationwide recognition as a WHFS presenter, including promotion alongside other WHFS presenters.
• Access to a private Mastermind group, ensuring you feel fully supported during this immense growth process
• An experience unlike anything else, and a rare opportunity to work first-hand with and alongside some of Australia’s most inspiring women
• A unique opportunity to be part of a positive movement to further enhance women’s health and fitness.
The Platform at the WHFS invites applications from all fitness professionals, allied health professionals and the general public, who share a keen interest in or passion for women’s health and wellbeing.
Applications close for The Platform at 5pm on Friday 26th May 2018.
