South East Leisure announces new board members and chair

South East Leisure (SEL) has announced the appointment of three new members to its board.

Bringing a wealth of experience and leadership to SEL, the newly appointed members are Kirstan Corben (also named as Chair), John Nguyen and Caroline Patrick.

They join SEL’s current Board members; Tim Cockayne, Dr. Malak Sukkar and Mick Jaensch.

Kirstan Corben is experienced in corporate governance and executive leadership across the health, community and sport sectors in Victoria.

She serves as Chair of Better Health Network, Director of South Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network, and has led impactful initiatives such as the Danny Frawley Centre, combining her extensive career in the health sector with a passion for driving social and health outcomes for communities.

John Nguyen is a finance and risk executive with over 25 years of global experience across professional services and the corporate sector. A former partner at Deloitte and Ernst & Young, he now serves on the boards of Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust, and chairs key Audit & Risk Committees, combining expertise in governance, financial management, and large program delivery.

Caroline Patrick is an experienced executive and non-executive director with 25 years of experience in marketing, communications, and engagement across complex, highly regulated sectors. She is currently Group Manager of Marketing, Communications and Engagement at South East Water.

Commenting on joining the board and her role as Chair, Corben stated "improving the health and wellbeing of individuals and whole communities is what I've chosen to do with my life. Sport and fitness is such an incredible platform from which to do that.

“There are so many opportunities ahead for South East Leisure and I'm excited to be part of it."

SEL Chief Executive, John Clark noted “it’s great to welcome Kirstan, John, and Caroline to the SEL Board. Our team is looking forward to their contributions as we continue to create an active, connected community.
