More than 100 delegates attend ARV's Fitness and Wellness Summit

Aquatics and Recreation Victoria (ARV) has advised of the success of its annual Fitness and Wellness Summit, hosted at Ikon Park in the Melbourne suburb of Carlton.

Over 100 industry professionals gathered for an insightful and inspiring event, held on Thursday 21st November, aimed highlighting innovation and best practice in fitness activities in aquatic and recreation facilities.

Commenting on the success of the event, ARV Chief Executive, Kathy Parton stated “this summit is a highly anticipated event on the ARV calendar, focused on the fitness sector of our industry.”

Staged at the AFLW Grand Final venue, the Summit covered topics through panels and presentations such as advancements in technology and AI and how to incorporate them within industry, engaging hard to reach populations and team well-being along.

Parton noted “with the support of sponsors Life Fitness, the Fitness & Wellness Summit supports the industry to celebrate achievements, develop and grow to foster the maximum amount of participation possible.”

Keynote speaker, AFL Hall of Famer Nathan Buckley’s presentation on his life’s journey and learnings, and Carlton Football Club’s AFLW Sports Scientist Kara Blute, who discussed data collection and assessment in the AFLW, providedg unique, thought-provoking ideas and experiences pertinent to the industry,

Parton added “it’s such a passionate sector of industry, we love seeing how enthusiastic and engaged everyone who attended was.”

The Summit concluded with a tour of the facilities at Ikon Park.
