ARV announces return of Advancing Women in Aquatics and Recreation leadership series

Aquatics and Recreation Victoria have announced the return of its popular Advancing Women in Aquatics and Recreation Leadership Series.

Part of ARV’s expanding calendar of events, the program is designed for women in the Victorian aquatic and recreation industry who want to enhance their leadership skills. Throughout the program, women will participate in a formal development experience based on 50 critical competencies for advancement.

Being offered for the third time, the program presents a unique opportunity for women to develop beyond the traditional focus of building interpersonal skills, self-efficacy, and confidence.

Its core objective is to help women discover ‘The Missing 33%’, often overlooked in women's development experiences, sharing learnings on how to identify, develop and demonstrate leadership excellence skills required for career advancement and the improvement of business, strategic and financial acumen.

The series sees ARV and the Director of Advancing Women in Sport and Business, Michelle Redfern partner together to facilitate a series of monthly workshops across a four-month period.

Each workshop provides a combination of facilitated learning, structured networking and practical pragmatic leadership, business and commercial skills development for women.

The program also welcomes special guest presentations by Advancing Women Ambassadors.

Supported by Perfect Gym, the series will be conducted at ARV Head Office on the following dates:

  • 26th September - A New Look at Leadership & The Missing 33% / Achieve & Sustain Extraordinary Outcomes

  • 24th October - What the CEO Wants You to Know (& do!) / What the CFO Wants You to Know: Metrics that Matter / Strategic Acumen

  • 14th November - Leadership that Gets Results: Engaging and Aligning Others / Decoding Confidence

  • 12th December - Network Like a Boss / Be Your Own CEO
