Pivotal industry issues to be analysed at the Aqua Alliance’s inaugural Aqua Industry Forum
The upcoming Aqua Industry Forum is to see leading figures in the aquatic industry address key issues facing the aquatic fitness sector when staged at Sydney’s Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre in late October.
The inaugural Aqua Industry Forum will hear from leading voices who will come together to discuss current challenges and opportunities facing the aqua fitness sector imparting their knowledge, experience and evidence-based information on topics including leadership, employment engagement and industry trends.
Being held on Friday 20th October, and followed by AquaSummit 2023 on 21st and 22nd October, the Forum is being staged by the Aqua Alliance with the aim to bring together professionals from the fitness, aquatic, research and wellness industries.
Aqua Alliance co-founder, Jenn Schembri-Portelli explains “this Industry Forum is specifically dedicated to aqua fitness.
“It’s a place where leaders, managers and instructors come together to work toward the same intent and purpose. These individuals are passionate about uncovering and expanding the immense potential that aquatic businesses, instructors and community can derive from this unique exercise setting.”
Schembri-Portelli notes that the Forum will address significant changes that the aqua sector is facing, including:
The fitness and aquatic training package
Modified compliance and revised aqua guidelines
Participation quotas
A five-year low of a skilled workforce.
However, Schembri-Portelli also highlights that “water exercise, in all its forms, has a continuously growing place in the expanding health, fitness and wellness industry.
“The Forum is all about strengthening the workforce through innovation, learning and sharing.”
Explaining the Forum’s relevance, Schembri-Portelli adds “it is critical that the industry understands, owns and has input into the future landscape, and contributes to drafting a trusted scorecard of the aqua sector’s credentials.
“This is a call out to management groups, pool owners, organisations and LGAs to have a seat at the Forum and 'make your opinion count'.”
