Campbelltown Aquafit assures members with recognition of its 'Gold Standard' COVID-19 compliance

Aquafit Health Fitness Wellbeing, the multi-purpose aquatic and fitness facility in South West Sydney, had today received a ‘Gold Standard’ acknowledgement following a NSW Health COVID-19 compliance inspection.

The NSW Health Officer commended the facility at the Campbelltown Catholic Club on the COVID-19 procedures and protocols which it has implemented to ensure members can exercise in safe environment since its post-Coronavirus reopening.

The NSW Health Officer stated, that Aquafit was “Gold Standard” in the industry.

In the months prior to re-opening on 1st July, the Aquafit team developed a comprehensive strategy to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their members and team developing a COVIDSafe plan that includes initiatives on risk management, safety, physical distancing, cleaning, and disinfecting protocols.

In addition, all staff have completed COVID-19 infection control online training.

Aquafit General Manager, Kristen Green advised “the safety and wellbeing of our Aquafit members and team is our highest priority, and to receive this acknowledgement affirms for us that in implementing these measures that we can provide peace of mind to exercise safely during this pandemic.”

In communications with members via social media, Aquafit has emphasised that member's “safe exercise is assured”, with the following measures adopted:

• A NSW Government registered COVID-19 Safety Plan detailing all its initiatives on risk management, safety, physical distancing, cleaning & disinfecting protocols.
• All Aquafit staff have completed COVID-19 infection control online training
• Directional and floor stickers for social distancing
• Maximum capacity signage in all areas
• Studio floors specially marked with individual workspaces
• Additional hand sanitizing stations in all areas
• Sanitising equipment wipes in all studios and gym floor areas.
• Contact tracing - Aquafit members only - no guests
• Bookings required for classes and pools - limits capacity
• Regular Disinfecting of high touch points e.g. door handles, counter tops and glass and railings
• Disinfecting of equipment immediately after member use, either by the member or staff - sharing a COVID-19 Update.
