Orange to host 2024 CrossFit Masters tournament
Orange will be hosting the 2024 CrossFit Masters from 18th-20th October with around 500 competitors from across Australia, as well as New Zealand Asia and Europe expected to attend the Masters tournament which includes competitors aged from 35 to 70.
It’s the first time the Masters event has been held in NSW.
CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program based on measurable outcomes, which lets participants compete in a range of skills and abilities. The Orange tournament will be held at the Orange Showground with weight-lifting and work-out events to be held indoors at the Naylor Pavilion and running events to use tracks around the Showground.
The contest includes sections for beginner, intermediate and advanced entrants. Competitors have qualified for the national tournament based on their results in competitions over the last 12 months.
Orange Mayor Jason Hamling is looking forward to welcoming the CrossFit competitors to Orange and enthused “It’s fantastic to see yet another major sporting event coming to Orange for the first time.
“October will see Orange’s climate at its best and I’m sure the competitors from all over Australia will have a ball. It will be great for local fitness enthusiasts to see Australia’s best first hand.
Director of Masters League Games, Joe Riego added “we’re excited to be bringing the CrossFit Masters event to New South Wales for the first time and we’re thrilled to be coming to Orange. We were in New Zealand last year and thought that would be hard to beat. But Orange has a brilliant reputation for the beauty of its scenery and the quality of its food and wines. I know our participants are going to love being there.”
