Wollongong arena prepares to host regional CrossFit Games finals
Wollongong’s WIN Entertainment Centre is preparing to host some of the world’s best CrossFit athletes from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th May when it stages the 2017 Pacific Regional CrossFit Competition.
Featuring the top CrossFit athletes in the Pacific Region - the best 30 men, 30 women and 20 teams from Australia and New Zealand will be joined by the top 10 men, 10 women, and 10 teams from Asia – the event will see three days of competition with the participants aiming to secure one of the five coveted spots in each division to the 2017 Reebok CrossFit Games in Madison, Wisconsin, USA in July.
The CrossFit Games are the world’s premier test to find the ‘Fittest on Earth’ and since its inception in 2007, the CrossFit Games have become one of the world’s fastest growing sporting competitions with over 10,000 CrossFit affiliates worldwide.
CrossFit is a worldwide strength and conditioning fitness program with workouts containing a combination of functional movements such as rowing, running, Olympic lifting, plyometrics, and gymnastics.
For the WIN Entertainment Centre, its repeat hosting the of the Pacific Regional CrossFit Competition is an example of its diversity of programming away from traditional sport and entertainment products.
