New partnership to develop careers in aquatics, fitness, recreation and sport
A growing demand for quality sporting leaders has prompted AFL SportsReady and aquatic and recreation facilities manager, Belgravia Leisure, to deliver 10 new traineeships across greater Sydney.
AFL SportsReady (NSW) State Manager, Andrew Craig, is pleased to announce the new partnership and is excited to place trainees in an organisation that is at the forefront of sports and recreation.
Craig explains “the aquatic and recreation industry is providing another area of opportunity for young people with a diverse range of roles.
“We are teaming up with like-minded experts who share in our passion to develop and nurture young people through education and employment pathways.”
“Belgravia Leisure has the expertise and facilities to mentor young people and develop their leadership skills in aquatics, fitness, and sport and recreation.”
Belgravia Leisure NSW State Manager James Ellender applauded the AFL SportsReady traineeship model, explaining “this traineeship program is a great way for young people to gain entry level experience and practical on-the-job learning, with the goal to progress into permanent employment and longer term careers in the Belgravia Leisure network of over 120 sites across Australia and New Zealand.
“We are on the hunt for people who are passionate about being active and healthy, and are eager to learn and develop into our future leaders.
“People of all abilities, ages and backgrounds are encouraged to apply. No formal experience is required, and school leavers are equally welcome.”
The traineeships will be placed in Belgravia Leisure aquatic, recreation and sporting facilities in the Sydney CBD, Liverpool, the Hills and the inner west.
Trainees will study a Certificate III in Sport and Recreation while earning the national training wage.
