Belgravia Leisure to manage Merredin Regional Community and Leisure Centre
Australian aquatic, fitness and recreation management specialists, Belgravia Leisure, has been appointed by the Shire of Merredin to officially take over the management of the Merredin Regional Community and Leisure Centre from 1st October 2016.
As part of its efforts to connect communities with leisure activities, Belgravia Leisure will work closely with the Shire of Merredin to strengthen the community and ensure locals have access to exceptional facilities.
Welcoming the new partnership, Belgravia Leisure Chief Executive Nick Cox stated “we are thrilled the Shire of Merredin selected us to help deliver the goals of the community and promote water safety and wellness across the region.
“We look forward to building on, and introducing high quality and innovative recreational programs suited to the needs of every member of the community.”
Shire of Merredin Chief Executive Greg Powell added “Belgravia Leisure was selected to manage the Merredin Regional Community and Leisure Centre because the company is able to bring benefits to Merredin and the regional community in terms other than financial with a broad variety of skills and experience in sporting and leisure aspects of community life.
“Both Council and staff look forward to working with Belgravia Leisure to increase the usage and range of activities available at the Merredin Regional Community and Leisure Centre.”
The Centre offers a wide range of facilities, including two multi-purpose sports courts, four outdoor basketball and netball courts, six rink synthetic bowling greens with lights, a synthetic duel lined surface for hockey and tennis, and a child crèche and function centre.
Currently partnering with more than 40 local and state government authorities, Belgravia Leisure employs over 4,500 staff in over 100 aquatic, fitness, recreation, sport and wellness facilities.
The Shire of Merredin is a local government area in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, about 250 kilometres east of Perth.
