China's Jiangsu Province plans for 3,000 football schools by 2025
Jiangsu Province is looking to build more than 3,000 campus football specialist schools and more than 100 football reserve talents pilot schools by 2025, according to the recently-released provincial Implementation of the Soccer Reform and Development Plan.
The eastern-central coastal province of the country aims to “rank in the forefront of soccer (football) comprehensive strength and development level across China by the year 2025.”
At the same time, the plan also involves 8,000 football spaces, one or two large-size specified pitches meeting international standards.
In addition to this, Jiangsu has plans to promote the development of the game through community football training, competitions and entertainment.
With local government statistics suggests that more than 5 million people in Jiangsu participate in football, a structure for amateur football is also an important part of the plan, with a model for regulating competitions and plans for more than 4,000 amateur clubs to be registered by 2025.
