Belgravia Leisure announces Australasian Facility of the Year Award

Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Lawnton Aquatic Centre has been crowned Australasian Facility of the Year at the 2017 Belgravia Leisure conference.

More than 150 Belgravia Leisure managers and future leaders converged on Melbourne for the annual industry conference late last month, with Belgravia Leisure Chief Executive Nick Cox commenting “this year’s conference, themed ‘Get Connected’, is part of Belgravia Leisure’s commitment to developing and inspiring leaders within the leisure industry.”

The two-day conference featured Olympic medallist and Belgravia Leisure Swimming and Water Safety Ambassador, Brooke Hanson OAM, with her inspiring story of perseverance, dedication and in believing in personal goals and from Paul (Mr Retention) Brown, founder of the global Face2Face fitness program, who reinforced the message of making every minute count.

Cox added “the Get Connected Conference fostered community and education among the Belgravia Leisure team.”

The event included presentations and workshops covering business planning and systems, human resources, digital marketing, engaging with local communities, and access and inclusion programming.

At the conference’s gala awards dinner, Queensland’s Lawnton Aquatic Centre was awarded the coveted Facility of the Year award, from over 120 sites across Australia and New Zealand.

Belgravia Leisure’s awards night, honours facilities and their teams for outstanding performance based on Belgravia Leisure’s CLEAR values of being: Customer focused, Leadership, Excellence, Accountability and Results.
