New KOMPAN outdoor spin bikes installed outside Darwin Convention Centre

Nine new state-of-the-art KOMPAN outdoor spin bikes have been installed on the grass area facing the Waterfront outside the Darwin Convention Centre.

The permanent outdoor spin bike installation combines advanced technology and features associated with indoor exercise bikes, with durable outdoor design.

Available to the public from Monday, the bikes combine the Waterfront’s stunning views with the quality and convenience of an indoor gym bike.

Darwin Waterfront General Manager, Sam Burke said he was looking forward to having a spin on the bikes and hoped to see many residents and tourists joining him over the coming months.

“The Waterfront is the only place in Australia where you can ride a spin bike with up to eight others, under the shade of a tree, while taking in breathtaking harbour views,” Burke said.

The bikes are designed for all fitness levels and feature adjustable seats, plus space for your mobile phone, towel and water bottle.

Bike users can connect to the free KOMPAN Cardio App to view instructional and motivational videos, track and save their rides and share to external platforms such as Strava, Apple Health and Google Fit.

Provided by Urban Play, the bikes are free to use and will be in place all-year round.
