Kompan welcomes new Managing Director
Leading children’s play equipment supplier Kompan Australia has announced the recent appointment of its new Managing Director, Peter McKewen.
McKewen (pictured above) who joined the company late last year, comes into the role following the retirement of longstanding Managing Director, Sue Simpson.
A statement from Kompan on Simpson’s retirement explained “the contribution Sue has made during her exceptional 24 years within the playground industry will stand as a lasting legacy for playgrounds in Australia.
“To the benefit of the health and pleasure of more than a generation of children and teenagers, Sue has personally been involved in raising the bar for the playground standard in Australia.
“In addition, Sue has established a huge number of playgrounds all over the very widespread Australian continent.”
Commenting on her successful career, Simpson stated "as a team we’ve built a beautiful company to be very proud of.
“Customer service is of paramount importance to our group and with the dedicated colleagues and consultants I have working with me it’s been a win-win situation.
“If I had to nominate one particular ‘high spot’ it would probably be 2011, the year we won the Australian International Design Award for ICON.
“A close second would be the random calls we have from dedicated clients thanking us for a job well done."
Looking forward to his new role, McKewen stated “joining Kompan has been very exciting and I am completely blown away with the stunning play areas we produce every day.
“Play areas that not only satisfy the high standard of the design fraternity but those of the children and young adults that use them every day where play values actually mean something.”
Kompan is looking forward to 2015 with a new look Playground Inspirations Catalogue outlining the key points behind the Danish-based company’s universally versatile designs.
