Malaysian attractions operator prepares stock market listing

Having amassing a significant portfolio of attractions, entertainment and tourism assets, Malaysia-based Themed Attractions Resorts & Hotels Sdn Bhd (TARH) is to float shares on the Kuala Lumpur stock exchange.

Valued at RM5 billion (US$1.27 billion), the investment holding company is owned by Malaysia's state investor Khazanah Nasional Bhd and was incorporated to develop, manage and operate hospitality and attraction destinations in Malaysia.

Targeting world-class hotels, resorts, golf courses and attractions in the region, the company's current key investment portfolio includes Desaru Coast - Malaysia’s first integrated luxury destination; Legoland Malaysia; KidZania Kuala Lumpur & KidZania Singapore; Sanrio Hello Kitty Town and The HIT Entertainment-themed Little Big Club.

Speaking to New Straits Times, TARH Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Tunku Ahead Burhanuddin,stated "we are working towards a listing.

"What we have done in the last two to three years is to expand our portfolio and broaden our value creations within our hotel and theme park business."
