Putreri Harbour family theme park opens
The RM110 million (US$36 million) Puteri Harbour FamilyTheme Park in Nusajaya, Malaysia, which includes the first Sanrio Hello Kitty Town outside Japan, has opened its doors to visitors.
Themed Attractions and Resorts Sdn Bhd (TAR) Managing Director and Chief Executive Tunku Datuk Ahmad Burhanuddin said, more than 2,500 had visited the theme park since its soft opening last weekend, stating "for the first year of operation, we are looking at half-a-million visitors to the theme park."
TAR is also pleased to have opened two more attractions in Puteri Harbour, the Sanrio Hello Kittty Town and The Little Big Club, with Burhanuddin adding "we are committed to providing world class theme park attractions and position Nusajaya as the region's premier leisure and tourism destination."
Asked about projected revenue for the family theme park during its firstyear of operations, Burhanuddin explained that TAR hoped it will be positive and in the double-digit range.
The Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park is a four-storey building, located strategically in Johor's administrative capital, Nusajaya, and is the second internationally-acclaimed theme park to be opened in Johor after Legoland Malaysia several months ago. It provides a series of unique experiences and excitement through popular children's characters from Lat's Place, Sanrio Hello Kitty Town and the LittleBig Club.
The Sanrio Hello Kitty Town, consists of various walk-through attractions, interactive activities and rides which follow the Hello Kitty theme, while The Little Big Club features lovable children characters such as Bob the Builder,Barney, Angelina Ballerina, Pingu and Thomas and Friends.
It will be the first time in the world that the five popular global characters are housed in a single themed attraction, adding originality and exclusivity to the Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park.
Besides the family theme park, the other attractions slated to open forbusiness include hotels, food and beverage outlets and a shopping complex.
