Recreation Aotearoa names Michele Frey as new Chair
Recreation Aotearoa ha announced that Michele Frey, Director - Liveable Communities at Gisborne District Council, has taken on the role of Chair of the Association, replacing Mark Bowater.
Commenting on her role to lead the way for recreation across New Zealand, Frey advised “for those who don't know me, I am a parks and recreation fanatic, formerly involved in the consulting world, but now based in Tairāwhiti, Gisborne as the Director Liveable Communities with Gisborne District Council.
“Those who know me, know I don’t do things by halves. I love recreation with my passion in recent years being multisport including the ultimate, Godzone Pure in 2021. But more recently the birth of my son Luca has really added a whole new dimension to my world.”
